Hello there folks, newbie here. I'm doing the research into Lovecraft for a novel series I'd like to write. Thanks so much for being here, and as I learn more I hope to be a real contributing member to the H. P. Lovecraft group here. Right now though, I'm looking for advice about: Is there a character (or class of character) in the Lovecraft pantheon who exists mostly in an incorporeal state, who the protagonist might be bonded to, as a "ride-along" entity in the human body, (maybe due to a botched possession, please share your suggestions). Needs to be weak enough (barely) to be dominated by the human spirit/psyche, at least for the first few novels until they work out an arrangement or something else happens. I'm thinking low or middle of the pantheon so there's plenty of big baddies to outwit, overthrow, etc... Please hit me with your thoughts, suggestions, who is an interesting villain or surprise partner my protagonist would end up working with grudgingly or even befriending. Please help me write something you'd like to read. Thanks!
