Lovecraft's works directly. Alan Moore (born 18 November 1953) is a prolific British comic book creator and prose writer whose work has at times explored the Cthulhu Mythos.

For the comic book genre, he has written several works set in and around the Cthulhu Mythos, including the hugely popular linked series Neonomicon and Providence. His League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series has also incorporated the Mythos in a supporting role.

Moore has written short stories connected to the Mythos, including "The Courtyard", whose adaptation in comic book format was the inspiration for Providence.
