The H.P. Lovecraft Wiki

This subject contains information from the Expanded Cthulhu Mythos, and not based on H.P. Lovecraft's works directly. Alicia Yog Armitage (formerly known as Alicia Yog Whateley) is a fictional character created by Juan Gotō for his manga series Alicia Y.

Background[]

Alicia Y Whateley is the daughter of Yog-Sothoth, making her a half-breed between god and human. She was originally created by the Whateley family to get revenge on Henry Armitage, the man who thwarted their ancestors' plan to summon Yog-Sothoth; using spellcraft to make the offspring of Armitage give birth to Alicia. After being enrolled at Miskatonic University, Mr. Whateley ordered Alicia to steal the research results left by her mother's great-grandfather, in order to avenge the Whateley household; however, Mr. Whateley ultimately died from using an incorrect summoning technique. Despite initially sharing the Whateley's resentment towards the world, Alicia changed her ways after meeting Nyar (also known as Nyarlathotep), who took the role of her guardian, as well as changing her name to "Alicia Y Armitage".

Alicia would later confront John Dee, a man who attempted to assimilate himself with Yog-Sothoth; however, Alicia ended up being the one who took the role of Yog-Sothoth, after her consciousness shifted during Dee's summoning of Cthulhu. Upon reaching Yog-Sothoth's domain, Alicia took Dee to the grave of the London Tower, in order to kill his past counterpart while he was still sleeping, as well as subjecting his spirit to never-ending agony. Back in the mortal world, Alicia returned to London and professed her love for Nyar. (EXP: Alicia Y)

Powers and Abilities[]

Due to her being a descendent of the Great Old Ones, Alicia has been shown to have several supernatural abilities.

In combat, Alicia can summon lightning bolts to destroy her opponents. Her entire body is able to emit a two-dimensional blade, which can cut through any substance by carving a rift in space, as well as delivering an omnidirectional attack. She can also destroy objects with the Trapezohedron by warping the closed space-time, encircling the entire surrounding space with negative light; however, the Trapezohedron's power was cut off after being confined by a giant star-shaped stone. When removing her eye patch, Alicia can fire a powerful hypnosis beam from her right eye.

After taking the role of Yog-Sothoth, Alicia became omnipotent and omniscient; however, it should be noted that Yog-Sothoth knew beforehand about the information to be obtained by him, meaning that Alicia was already Yog-Sothoth himself from the very beginning. Yog-Sothoth's true form is an accumulation of photons that harbor infinite information, being the god who encompasses everything, including transcendental dimensional spaces that hold the cardinality of aleph-∞, with the universe itself being a mere infinitesimal bubble looming momentarily inside the ocean of Yog-Sothoth, along with the entities that were referred to as gods like Cthulhu, Hastur and Azathoth.

In Other Media[]

  • Alicia makes a brief cameo in episode 11 of the anime television series Haiyore! Nyaruko-san; however, she is depicted with a different hair color.
  • Alicia appears in the manga series Shirley Holmes, which was also written by Juan Gotō, where she admits to losing her virginity with Nyar.
