Written in a similar style to the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks popular in the 1980s, Alone Against the Frost requires the player only supply a pencil, paper and dice, as the basic rules for Call of Cthulhu are available as a free download on Chaosium’s website. The story allows a single player to take control of a small party of investigators as they travel through Canada's Northwest Territories in search of the fabled Sasquatch.
Written by Glenn Rahman and released as Alone Against the Wendigo in 1985, this updated release was revamped by British game designer Gavin Inglis for the seventh edition of Call of Cthulhu. It features a full-colour cover by Veronica Anrathi with black-and-white interiors.
Released in 2019, Alone Against the Frost is available in both softcover print and digital PDF versions.
