The H.P. Lovecraft Wiki

This subject contains information from the Expanded Cthulhu Mythos, and not based on H.P. Lovecraft's works directly. Amaterasu is part of the Shinto cosmology. She was first used by Chaosium in 2005 for its Call of Cthulhu role-playing game as an Elder God. However, it is stated that this classification should be taken loosely and used as a basis of comparison with Cthulhu Mythos creatures.[1]

Background[]

Amaterasu is a Sun Goddess, whose manifestation is that of a luminescent Japanese woman of unfathomable beauty. She is dressed in a dazzling white kimono. The ancient island civilization of Mu worshiped her.
