Ammutseba (Devourer of Stars) is a Great Old One in the Cthulhu Mythos. She first appeared in the short story Lost Stars by Ann K. Schwader and then in Chaosium's supplement Secrets of Kenya for their Call of Cthulhu RPG.
Description[]
Ammutseba is described as a dark black vapor cloud with wispy, black, misty tentacles that floats in the sky and absorbs falling stars and all lights. (EXP: Secrets of Kenya)
She is said to be the daughter of an entity named Isfet, whom one character in Lost Stars inferred to be Chaos / Azathoth. (EXP: Lost Stars)
In the Mythos[]
Ammutseba was worshiped by the Stygian and then by a sisterhood in the very early days of Ancient Egypt. Nowadays, cults that revere her are normally restricted to women-only ones, who incorporate Egyptian magic in their rituals. A prophecy in the tome The Gate of All Lost Stars foretold that one day Ammutseba, guided by her favorite priestess Sesh'tet, will return to devour the stars and all light. (EXP: Secrets of Kenya)
