The Arkham Police Department is the primary law enforcement division for the city of Arkham. It has featured in many Cthulhu Mythos stories over the years.
Expanded Mythos Works[]
Arkham Detective Agency[]
In the Arkham Detective Agency anthology, the APD is used by a secretive branch of the government to keep tabs on the Agency. At least one investigator was also recruited by Frank Nardi from their ranks.
Casefile: Arkham[]
In the altered timeline of the pulp/noir graphic novels, the APD is depicted as a profoundly corrupt organisation who seem more intent on clearing cases from their desks than seeking actual justice.
Fall of Cthulhu[]
In Michael Alan Nelson's comic book series, the Arkham Police Department is headed by Sheriff Raymond Dirk. They suffered a number of deaths at the hands of the Gray Man, a supernatural entity in search of the young thief Lucifer.
Fantasy Flight Games[]
Fantasy Flight have included the APD several times in their Mythos-related works. In this iteration, the department appears to have been infiltrated by the Silver Twilight Lodge who use it to cover up their activities and keep tabs on "undesirables."
Known Employees[]
- Sheriff Engle: the department's head, Engle has appeared in several of Fantasy Flights' Arkham Horror games and stories.
- Officer Galeas Morgan: a promising young policeman, Morgan has seen the forces of the Cthulhu Mythos up close, and has proven himself a capable and resourceful individual.
