Lovecraft's works directly. Brian Michael Stableford (25th July 1948 - 24 February 2024) was a prolific British science fiction and horror author who wrote numerous stories set in the Cthulhu Mythos. These include several which were written as sequels to the stories of H. P. Lovecraft, which were collected together in the anthology The Legacy of Erich Zann and Other Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos.

Graduating from university with a degree in biology, he spent many years in the research field before moving his focus to sociology, a subject he would go on to lecture in, along with creative writing; subsequent to this, he became a full-time writer. Stableford passed away on 24 February 2024 [1].
