Call of Cthulhu: Prisoner of Ice is a video game based on H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos.
Overview[]
A single-player puzzle solving game, Prisoner of Ice begins on a pre-WWII British submarine departing a German military base built atop the ruined Elder Thing city described in At the Mountains of Madness. The plot later moves to Argentina where it ties in with its predecessor game Shadow of the Comet.
Release[]
First released by Infogrames in the US and UK in 1995, Prisoner of Ice received a Japanese release in 1997, where it was also ported to the Sega Saturn and PlayStation.
Tie-Ins[]
Three French comic books were released to tie into Prisoner of Ice, La Geôle de Pandore (Pandora's Jail), Le Glaive du Crépuscule (The Dagger in the Dusk) and La Cité des Abîmes (The City of the Depths).
