Species

Template:Inmythos This category contains all creatures, (sentient, non-sentient, native, extra-terrestrial, etc.) that have been classified or described as a large population of similar creatures. This is to say that they share a single, unique, evolving gene pool.

This therefore excludes the following:

• Mutants, which are genetic or unnatural aberrations of a member or small number of a species
• Biological experiments, which are intentional modifications of a member of a species by a willful agent
• Hybrids, which derive their genes from two separate gene pools of two different species

These species have been described using the archaic term "race", but are better described with a contemporary term based in biology and genetics.
