Census Issue 4 is the fourth issue of short-lived supernatural comic book Census. Created by Marc Bernardin, Adam Freeman, and Sebastian Piriz, the series followed the adventures of Liam Malone, an average Joe with a slacker streak, as he takes on a new job: conducting a census on behalf of the bureaucracy of hell on the numbers and locations of demons living in New York City.
The book was published in January 2023 by Dazzling Urbanite through Amazon as part of their Comixology line of digital comic book originals.
Mythos Connections[]
As part of a plan to free a group of trapped ghosts, Malone enlists the help of the Great Old One Cthulhu, who he had previously encountered through his information-gathering duties, to redirect a parade making its way through the streets of New York City. During the course of their scheme Cthulhu is inexplicably given the code name "Reggie". This version of Cthulhu is a much more personable entity than the one more familiar to Mythos enthusiasts, being described as "incredibly low-maintenance" and "a congenitally lazy miscreant." When questioned on its activities, it states that " [I] split my time between here [New York] , the underwater city of R'lyeh, and my place on the vineyard."
