The Children of Tsathoggua are a fictional race created by Chaosium in 1995 for the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game which are based on Robert E. Howard's "The Thing on the Roof".
Background[]
The Children of Tsathoggua are a race of toad-things. Greasy, enormous, and bloated creatures that have dozens of tentacles, a pair of huge membranous wings, and four or more thick legs that end in mastodonic hooves. Dripping slime covers their ebony black blubbery skin, the eyes are milky white, and extending from their mouth's bony ridges are curved fangs.
The Children of Tsathoggua live in the temples and caverns where their creator is worshiped, acting as the guardians of the shrine and accepting sacrifices. Thieves are mercilessly tracked down and killed, the stolen items retrieved and returned. Some of them were worshiped by early man. It's a race knowledgeable in magic.
