Overview[]

Created by Jeff Barber and John Tynes with supplementary material by Dennis Detwiller and Jonathan Tweet, Creatures & Cultists featured card art by J. Todd Kingrea. It was issued as a book containing rules and player sheets, with the cards themselves needing to be cut out after purchase.

Gameplay involves each player assembling a cult which they then use to battle other cults. Once a set number of points have been achieved through winning battles, the player may then attempt to summon their dark god and win the game.

Publication History[]

First appearing in 1990 in issue #4 of Mythos gaming magazine The Unspeakable Oath, at that time edited by John Tynes, Creatures & Cultists was later released through Tynes' label Pagan Publishing as a stand-alone game in 1993. It is currently out of print.
