History[edit | edit source]
A quiet and unassuming young woman, Daisy had been an avid reader her whole life, being particularly enthralled by tales of horror, and consumed everything she could lay her hands on with eager abandon. These stories were in stark contrast to her real life, in which she despised violence of all kinds.
One day however, Daisy happened across the John Dee edition of the Necronomicon, that most evil of tomes and, at first believing it to be just another work of fiction, dived right in. She quickly came to the realisation that this was not simply another imaginary tale, and the thought that the beings and practices contained within could be real filled her with a deep sense of dread. Repulsed yet determined to learn more, she sought out other books on the subject, familiarising herself with De Vermis Mysteriis and the Cultes des Goules among others, with each new revelation causing her fear to grow.
Then one night, when Daisy was alone in the library, the Thing materialised, a creature straight from the pages of the Ponape Scripture. Managing to escape, the realisation dawned on her that if the Thing was real, then so could be the other monstrosities she had read about, and so she quietly went to work, using her extensive knowledge of the occult to try and devise a way to put an end to the horror.
Behind the Mythos[edit | edit source]
Daisy was first created by Fantasy Flight as an Investigator character to be included in the Kingsport Horror expansion for the Second Edition of adventure board game Arkham Horror, but has since made appearances in both Eldritch Horror and Arkham Horror: The Card Game. Additionally, the company released a prepainted plastic miniature of her in 2010 as part of their Arkham Horror Premium Figures range, but this has since been discontinued (all EXP).
