This subject contains information from the Expanded Cthulhu Mythos, and not based on H.P. Lovecraft's works directly. Dhole Ant-Lions are a fictional species created by Marc Laidlaw and Gary Myers for their Cthulhu Mythos short story "The Summons of Nuguth-Yug". In the original story, they are only referred to as "ant-lions". The name "Dhole Ant-Lion" comes from the role-playing game Call of Cthulhu.

Description[]

Dhole Ant-Lions are massive predators from the Dreamlands which live in the Vale of Pnath. Similar to real ant-lions, these monsters dwell in funnel-shaped pits some miles across, the perimeter of which is filled with the scattered bones of humans and various animals, ranging in size from rats to elephants. (EXP: "The Summons of Nuguth-Yug")

Dhole Ant-Lions are formidable beings which can even prey upon Dholes. (EXP: H. P. Lovecraft's Dreamlands)
