Consisting of eighteen works - including several from those who actually knew him and one from H. P. Lovecraft himself - and running to 172 pages, Discovering H. P. Lovecraft was compiled and edited by Darrell Schweitzer, and published by Wildside Press in August 2001.

The majority of the included pieces were previously collected in Schweitzer's 1976 anthology Essays Lovecraftian.
