"Dope War of the Black Tong" is a short story by American author Robert M. Price. It continues the Anton Zarnak series created by Lin Carter, for whom Price acted as literary executor.
Synopsis[]
Steve Harrison, a private detective on a mission to clean up the city's dark underbelly, stumbles across an incursion of Tcho-Tcho criminals who have allowed a consignment of the drug Black Lotus to reach the streets.
Recruiting the aid of famed occultist Dr. Anton Zarnak the two, with the aid of Zarnak's capable manservant Akbar Singh, track down the cult and put a stop to their nefarious scheme. Despite the fact that Zarnak is seemingly killed during the confrontation, Singh believes him to have magically transported himself to the Plateau of Sung.
