Eihort, also known as The Pale Beast, is a Great Old One in the expanded Cthulhu Mythos. The character was originally created by Ramsey Campbell for his short story "The Franklyn Paragraphs".
Overview[]
Eihort is a huge, pale, gelatinous, oval-shaped monstrosity covered in myriads of eyes and supported by thousands of bony, fleshless legs.
Whenever Eihort encounters a human, it makes a bargain with them. If the human declines, Eihort kills the human. If the human accepts, Eihort implants an undeveloped brood into their body, which will kill the human host when it hatches. According to The Revelations of Glaaki, after the fall of humanity, Eihort's brood will be born into light and replace humanity.
In Other Media[]
- In the light novel series Ultimate Antihero, Eihort is one of the Evil Gods that Homura Kamishiro has the ability to summon. The entity is described as resembling the combination of a flea and a spider with numerous crimson eyeballs. Eihort has the power to distort the world, in order to create a magical labyrinth that can trap hundreds of thousands of people. The labyrinth is covered in a jet black mist from the outside and contains many gruesome monsters, including Eihort's spawn.
- Eihort appears in the trading card game Z/X Zillions of enemy X.
