The highlights of the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival calendar are a series of events held in Portland, Oregon (annually) and Providence, Rhode Island (biannually), although it also organises more ad hoc screenings across the United States on request when time and funds allow.
Many low-budget and indie films have been shown at the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival, and the organisers frequently release collections of their most popular screenings on DVD and Blu-ray, along with a range of other merchandise.

- The Providence event is held biannually so as not to clash with NecronomiCon, which takes place on the years when the Film Festival is showing.
