Freddy Krueger is a slasher in the fictional Nightmare on Elm Street universe, who was created in 19784 and has been the franchise's antagonist. He has appeared in comic book series by Marvel, Innovation Publishing, Trident Comics, Avatar Press, and now Wildstorm Productions.
Background
Freddy Krueger was a serial killer during his mortal life. Born to a nun who was raped by the inmates of an asylum, he was bullied in his youth and as an adult murdered the children of those whom bullied him. Who formed a mob, hunted him down, and burned him alive. As he was burning to death, he made a pact with dream demons, becoming one himself.
