This subject contains information from the Expanded Cthulhu Mythos, and not based on H.P. Lovecraft's works directly. The Guardians of the Crystallizers of Dreams are a species of creature which appear in the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game.

Description[]

Servants of the entity known as Hypnos, the Guardians originate on a plane of existence separate from our own. Appearing as ethereal floating jellyfish-like creatures with a pair of luminous amber eyes, they manifest in this dimension when one of the Crystallizers is used incorrectly or is taken from its owner. They will attack the offending entity with their long tentacles and drag them back to their own dimension, and due to their insubstantial form are immune to all physical attacks.

Behind the Mythos[]

The Guardians of the Crystallizers of Dreams were first mentioned in the Ramsey Campbell short story "The Render of the Veils" and were later expanded upon by Scott David Aniolowski for Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game supplement Ye Booke of Monstres II in 1995.
