Hell-Plants are a fictional race created by Chaosium in 1995 for the Call of Cthulhu RPG.
Background[]
Hell-Plants are writhing slimy masses of branches and creepers that are covered with lipless fanged mouths and bulging eyeballs. Once a hell-plant sprouts, it rapidly grows ever larger, hungrily reaching for any nearby life form. Hell-plant seeds are carried within living hosts, planted by Mythos beings or powerful sorcerers. The being that inserted the seed into the host, determines when, how, or where it will sprout. When it germinates it rips through the body, instantly killing its host. The hell-plant roots itself to where the host falls.
