Description

These horrific creatures are native to a world ordinarily unreachable by human senses, but are capable of crossing over into our realm and even leaving physical traces, such as saliva. Their strong putrefying smell is also indicative of their presence. However, they're not capable of interacting with anything physically, and the way they move around is not fluid, but rather resembles a series of instantly-shifting images.

HunterFromBeyond

Their physical appearance is similar to a pale-grey hairless ape, with a slouched posture and vaguely canine jaws, as well as long fangs from which their greenish slime-like saliva is often seen dripping. The talon-like claws on their hands are comparable to those of a hyena. The shriveled skin is marked by etiolated rings, which also give them a trace of worm-like aspect. Their deep-sunken eyes glow with a bright yellow phosphorescence.

These "Hunters from Beyond" have been so-named by the sculptor Cyprian Sincaul, who eventually mastered the ability to summon them from their native realm, without having to resort to spells or incantations. The appellation is more than adequate, given that these creatures are predators, although not in the traditional sense. They feed on the minds of living prey, converting their victims into mindless non-responsive automatons. Their hunting method consists of using a form of mesmerism to tempt victims to cross into the Hunters' own realm, where the prey becomes tangible to them. Strong-willed individuals are capable of resisting it with some effort.
