I Miti di Cthulhu ("The Cthulhu Mythos") is an Italian-language series of collections of Cthulhu Mythos-related horror and other selected stories published by Fanucci Editore between March 1985 and September 1991. The books consist largely of translations of English-language works from a variety of authors, including those of the Lovecraft circle, expanded mythos authors, and writers from whom Lovecraft took inspiration, although a fair portion are more traditional horror anthologies, with these choosing to focus on a specific theme; for example vampires or werewolves. [1]

Authors who have been published in the series include H. P. Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, Arthur Conan Doyle, Algernon Blackwood, William Hope Hodgson, Robert Bloch, Arthur Machen, Ambrose Bierce, and many others.

The series was edited by Sebastiano Fusco, Gianni Pilo, Domenico Cammarota, and Luigi Cozzi, and translators included Pilo and Daniela Galdo.

In February 1992, the series was relaunched as I Miti di Cthulhu (Nuova Serie), which was edited solely by Pilo. This series proved short-lived, with only four books receiving a release, all novels, and only one related to the actual Cthulhu Mythos.[2]
