Innsmouth is a fictional town in Lovecraft Country. It was founded in 1643, noted for shipbuilding before the American Revolution.
During the American government’s siege of Innsmouth explosives were detonated in Devil's Reef. Its inhabitants were not taken to any jail or prison, but instead the government caused them to "disappear".
