“ | Of all the cities found in H.P. Lovecraft's vision of Massachusetts, perhaps none is quite so deadly as the small fishing village of Innsmouth. Decrepit and dying, Innsmouth is being consumed from within by an ancient pact once made to save the town. The investigators will find every hand turned against them as they explore its rotting docks and fetid beaches. In the end, perhaps the only way to save Innsmouth is by destroying it along with the terrible creatures which haunt its waters near Devil's Reef. | „ |
The Innsmouth Horror Deluxe Expansion was a big-box expansion set for Fantasy Flight Games' board game of Lovecraftian adventure, Arkham Horror. It was chronologically the sixth to be released.
Overview[]
Included with the Innsmouth Horror set are a host of new Item, Spell and Ally cards for Investigators to choose from, Ancient One cards designed to reflect the realities of an incursion into Innsmouth, 32 Spawn Monsters showcasing the horrors found in that blighted town, 2 new Heralds, 8 new Ancient Ones, 16 new Investigators, and an additional board which enabled the players to access the streets of Innsmouth via Arkham's train station.
This expansion was notable for introducing the Personal Stories concept, and optional set of rules which gave the game more of a role-play feel than was offered under previous versions.
Another new mechanic seen here was the Innsmouth Look, another optional ruleset which represented the players' slow degeneration into becoming a full-blown Deep One.
