The James Allison Cycle is a series of linked short stories set across the ages, most of which were written by Robert E. Howard, although two were fragments completed by other authors.
Synopsis[]
James Allison is a Texan man in the 1930s who has memories of his past lives, which span millennia; in each of the stories, he recounts a tale from one of these lives.
In "Black Eons", a story fragment completed by Robert M. Price, Allison is revealed to have been a tribal warrior named Bane during the Hyborian Age. Bane slew a sorceress priest of Gol-goroth named Koth-Serapis, but before he died the priest cursed him to be continually reincarnated and to never know peace until the two meet in another life and he could take his revenge. Allison destroys the priest forever, and subsequently falls asleep never to wake again, having broken the curse.
