Koth-Shugoth is a Great Old One (Dark Giant) created by DC Comics. He appeared in 1995 in the 1st issue of the 3rd Annual Volume of the Spectre comic series.

BackgroundEdit

Koth-Shugoth is one of the Elder Gods which was banished from the universe upon the ascent of mankind. It along with the others were banished by the One Over All. During World War Two, the US government was looking into the supernatural and its potential military uses. Due to Hitler's people looking for the Ark of Covenant and the Spear of Destiny, the US was attempting to harness the power of the Elder Gods.

They worked with the dark occultist Micah Cole, who betrayed them and opened a portal for Koth-Shugoth to return to Earth. An intelligent god who spoke to Spectre. Dr. Fate, Spectre, and the military then engaged it in battle. Spectre followed it into its own dimension. Where he erased it from existence as a warning to the other Elder Gods and closed the portal.
