- ๐ This article is about the species. For the Great Old One see Zhar and Lloigor.
In the works of Colin Wilson, the Lloigor are vortices of living power completely invisible except on occasions when they appear reptilian. They came from Andromeda, first settling in Lemuria and Mu. They used humans as slaves (see the Kthatans), have the power to transform people physically and can adopt corporal bodies if they wish. They are sometimes called โthe invisible ones from the starsโ and may be the same as the flying polyps. They were ruled by Ghatanothoa possibly through mating with the god Lloigor.
In Other Media[]
- In The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen story "Allan and the Sundered Veil", by Alan Moore, the Lloigor species is actually another name for the Great Old Ones in general, including Ithaqua. Moore portrays them as manifestations of a metaphysical plane named Yuggoth, which can be variously perceived as a planet, a deity, or a state of mind.
- An evil Lloigor named Roy Fogger appears in episode 11 and 12 of the anime Haiyore! Nyaruko-san. Lloigor is also one of the components for the BLT sandwich, along with Byakhee and Tsathoggua.
- The Zoiger, a race of Lloigor-based kaiju, appears in the TV series Ultraman Tiga.
Behind the Mythos[]
It seems that Wilson named the species after the Great Old One created by Derleth.
