Lovecraft Country refers to the fictional and fictionalised New England locales used by H. P. Lovecraft in many of his writings. The phrase was first used by Keith Herber when writing for Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game, and has since become an accepted term when referring to Lovecraft's works.
