β€œ The key to the Dreamlands lies within us all. β€ž

Luke Robinson, the Dreamer, is a character who appears in several of Fantasy Flight Games' additions to the expanded Cthulhu Mythos.

History

Always a great dreamer, years ago Luke discovered the allure of the Dreamlands. He had climbed down the Seventy Steps of Light Slumber, faced the judgement of Nasht and Kamen-Tha, and walked through the Doors of Sleep; from then on he spent every night delving into its secrets. He wandered the sleeping world exploring all that he could, and discussed the reality of the place with its denizens before stumbling across the greatest truth of all: the Dreamlands were a real place, and one could travel there, if one knew how.

Gathering up his meagre possessions and setting his affairs in order, Luke made his way to the portal he had been told of and passed through, thinking that he would never again see the waking world.

However, word came to Luke that something catastrophic was happening in Arkham, that an evil from before time was rearing it’s ugly head once again. So, collecting his things for a second time, Luke prepared to leave the Dreamlands, to return to the waking world and prepare to defend his old home.

Behind the Mythos

The character of Luke Robinson was originally created to be an Investigator for the Kingsport Horror expansion for the Second Edition of Arkham Horror, but has since made appearances in Eldritch Horror, Arkham Horror: The Card Game, and Arkham Horror Third Edition. In addition, Fantasy Flight released a plastic miniature of him in 2010 as part of their Arkham Horror Premium Figures line, but this is no longer in production (all EXP).
