Brenda Goff, better known as Madame Renee, is a character who appears in several of the Arkham Detective Agency stories by C. J. Henderson and others.
History[]
After a career as a dancer in her younger years, Brenda Goff came to the realisation that the natural shelf-life of a professional dancer would not provide her with a steady income for the rest of her days. Deciding to make use of her natural psychic talents, she changed her name to Madame Renee and cultivated her naturally-Middle Eastern looks along with a faux accent to become a professional medium.
Since then she has developed a working relationship as a consultant with the Arkham Detective Agency, and Frank Nardi in particular, who she seems to have something of a soft spot for.
At some point in her life, Madame Renee gave birth to an unnamed daughter who is now of college age. She is stated to be worried about being able to afford her daughters university fees.
Behind the Mythos[]
Madame Renee was created by C. J. Henderson for his first Frank Nardi story, The Idea of Fear, and has since appeared in several other stories involving the characters by different authors.
