The H.P. Lovecraft Wiki

I used to sing as grand-mère made potions and charms.

This subject is written on a topic in the real world and reflects factual information. This subject contains information from the Expanded Cthulhu Mythos, and not based on H.P. Lovecraft's works directly. Marie Lambeau, also known as the Entertainer and the Smoky Velvet, is a character created by Fantasy Flight Games for their Arkham Horror Files line of Cthulhu Mythos releases. She made her first appearance in the Dunwich Horror expansion for Arkham Horror in July 2006.

Overview[]

A young black woman from New Orleans, Louisiana, Marie Lambeau is an extremely talented singer. Her grand-mére was regarded by many as a witch, and some believe that Marie carries a touch of magic in her blood as a result.

Shortly after moving to Arkham, Marie's grand-mére passed, and the girl began to hear songs and rhymes in her head. What they mean, Marie is yet to find out.

Behind the Mythos[]

Since her debut, Marie has appeared in several other Arkham Horror Files releases including Eldritch Horror and Arkham Horror: The Card Game. In 2010, a pre-painted plastic miniature was released as a gaming aid as part of the Arkham Horror Premium Figures line, although this is no longer in production.

Trivia[]

  • In Eldritch Horror, the globally-set counterpart to Arkham Horror, Marie travelled to Borneo to combat an ancient evil after her grand-mére's passing.
  • Marie made a cameo appearance in Graham McNeill's novel Ghouls of the Miskatonic, playing a gig in an Arkham speakeasy with Jim Culver.
