Mindy Nguyen is a character created by Canadian author Troy Young for his Nyarlathotep Cycle series of Cthulhu Mythos stories.
Description[]
A tall, good-looking Asian woman with long black hair which she usually wears tied back, Mindy is trained in the combat techniques of Krav Maga.
History[]
Formerly an investigative reporter, Harjit Singh recruited Mindy into the Department of Extraordinary Phenomena around 2018 after her fiancé was tortured and killed by 'winged shrimp with legs' (most likely Mi-Go) whilst on a hiking trip.
A little over a year later, one of her assignments caused her to cross paths with an alien life form and its collection of exotic flora. This encounter left her with a heightened ability to sense the presence of otherworldly entities and influence.
Nine months after that, she was first partnered with rookie agent and former firefighter Malcolm Mayweather. This partnership would only last for two assignments over the course of seven weeks, as Mayweather killed Mindy at her own request after she was infected by a horrific, incurable and fast-acting supernatural disease.

Mindy has been given the following assignments (listed according to her in-universe timeline):
- Niagara, Canada: Mindy had her encounter with the alien gardener and its sentient greenhouse (EXP: "The Alien Gardener").
- Saskatchewan, Canada: she and Malcolm Mayweather battled a cultist with the ability to control rats (EXP: "The Rat King").
- Winnipeg, Canada: she and Mayweather encountered a being dubbed the Tattered Lady whose goal was to spread contagion through the masses. Was infected by the contagion and died at Mayweather's hands (EXP: "The Tattered Lady").
