In Colin Wilson's work on the Necronomicon, "Ye Alphabet of Nug-Soth" is the name of an alphabet that was created as some kind of esoteric scripture, to serve the purpose of the Mad Arab Abdul Alhazred for his great work, the Necronomicon. It is also used on talismans to help its user to travel through time and space.
Behind the Mythos[edit | edit source]
In the "Necronomicon" by George Hay and Colin Wilson, published 1978, various Lovecraft works and names from those works are namechecked and put into different contexts, as with the use of the name of an alien race for an alphabet, without any direct connection to imply that this might be the alphabet used by that alien species. One can infer such a thing, but such a statement or inference is not present in the 1978 work.
