When I play the violin, the music echoes in other worlds

Patrice Hathaway, the Violinist, was created by Fantasy Flight Games as a playable character for several of their Arkham Horror Files lines of games including Arkham Horror itself.

History Edit

Always a natural with the bow and string, as Patrice grew up it became clear to all that she was something of a musical prodigy. Immersing herself in her sublime violin symphonies, upon reaching adulthood, her fame grew to worldwide proportions, and she played in venues across the globe.

However, something had always nagged at the back of Patrice's mind when she played, the thought that something was watching her and listening to her harmonies. And so it was that when she found herself playing a few melodies with an old gypsy woman one day, the crone's revelation that she was being stalked by something malignant was not as much of a shock as it should have been; she took notice and decided to do something about it. Thus, Patrice took her first steps on the path which would ultimately lead to the knowledge that there really are monsters lurking in the abyss beyond human sight.

Behind the Mythos Edit

Although initially conceived as a character for the Innsmouth Horror expansion of Arkham Horror Second Edition, Patrice has also made appearances in several of Fantasy Flight's companion games including Eldritch Horror, Arkham Horror: The Card Game, and Elder Sign. In 2010 a plastic figurine designed to replace the cardboard tokens included with the games was created for her as part of the Arkham Horror Premium Figures line, although this is no longer in production (all EXP).
