Paula Guran is a multi-award winning American editor and critic, specializing in science fiction, fantasy, and horror, who has occasionally written her own short fiction. She has worked on numerous publications involving Lovecraftian fiction and the Cthulhu Mythos, including New Cthulhu: The Recent Weird (2011, Prime Books) and The Mammoth Book of Cthulhu (2016, Robinson).
Guran, who lives in Akron, Ohio, has edited more than 50 science fiction, fantasy, and horror anthologies, and more than 100 novels and single-author collections, for Prime Books, Juno, Pyr, Night Shade, and other publishers.[1] She is perhaps best known as the editor of the Year’s Best Dark Fantasy and Horror series.
She has worked as an editor at Weird Tales, Horror Garage, and Cinemafantastique, and as a critic at Locus and Publisher's Weekly.[2]
