This subject contains information from the Expanded Cthulhu Mythos, and not based on H.P. Lovecraft's works directly. Sea Ghouls are a fictional aquatic variety of Ghouls that originate from the Call of Cthulhu role-playing game supplement The Bermuda Triangle.

Description[]

As their name implies, Sea Ghouls are a marine variety of Ghouls which can be found in the seas around the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Bahamas, where they typically make their homes in sunken shipwrecks. Their diet consists mostly of fish, as well as the occasional lone swimmer. Unlike their land-based relatives, however, Sea Ghouls are cowardly creatures and thus never attack those who appear stronger than them, or who are part of a group. When they do attack, their strategy consists of savagely mauling their prey with their teeth and claws, while attempting to tear off oxygen tanks and other equipment, and holding down the victim until it drowns.
