I can clearly recognise word choices I made to make up for language differences, such as using "''excited''" instead of "''enamoured''" (as the Spanish "''enamorado''" could be understood as "''in love''" by readers!) or replacing "''hatchlings''" with "''young''" because I couldn't think of a word in Spanish to deem hatched babies. |

An appeal to keep an eye on the page... or something.
User 188.163.47.251 has copied and translated the "Lithard" article from the Lovecraft wiki in Spanish and keeps on pasting the resulting text here. I know that's the case because I was the one who first corrected said article, which in turn was lifted from Monster Wiki.
Whilst I have nothing against Fandom wikis feeding off one another content-wise (and it's not that the practice itself is forbidden, anyway!), this is a case in which recursive translation is detrimental for this article's quality. Therefore, I wished to explain this situation via article talk instead of ending up on a string of reverted texts and an edit war.
I can clearly recognise word choices I made to make up for language differences, such as using "excited" instead of "enamoured" (as the Spanish "enamorado" could be understood as "in love" by readers!) or replacing "hatchlings" with "young" because I couldn't think of a word in Spanish to deem hatched babies.
Even if that wasn't the case, 188.163.47.251 has left mistranslations that leave no doubt about the text's origin, such as translating "miembros" ("members", as in individuals) as "limbs". Or, better yet, keeping one of my typos that turned the term "subterranean" into "ubterranean". --AzureKesil (talk) 03:20, September 24, 2020 (UTC)
