I have not the English version for either of the original stories by Robert E. Howard (Valley of the Worm and Scarlet Citadel), but I've got two questions on this character:
- Is Satha confirmed to be Set in "Valley of the Worm"? (or elsewhere, before Marvel Comics's Conan: Serpent War)
- Is his name "Satha the Old One" in "Scarlet Citadel" an indication as to include him among the Great Old Ones, or is it merely a title, similar to "the Old Serpent" (or named similarly to the Serpent-Men, sometimes named "Old Ones" as well) ?
- "The Valley of the Worm" confirms Satha to be Set (the story is on Wikisource [[1]]. Sorry, I don't know about the second part, but it is stated to be older than humanity ("... tales of him became twisted into demonology; so in later ages Satha became the veritable devil of the white races, and the Stygians first worshipped, and then, when they became Egyptians, abhorred him under the name of Set, the Old Serpent, while to the Semites he became Leviathan and Satan. He was terrible enough to be a god ..."). Hope this helps. TheSmoog78 (talk) 10:37, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
