The Arkham Evil is a scenario supplement for Chaosium's horror roleplaying game Call of Cthulhu, consisting of three interconnected stories. It was first published by Theatre of the Mind Enterprises for the first edition of Call of Cthulhu in 1983; a French edition was also released, titled Terreur sur Arkham.
The Arkham Evil was designed by John Diaper, Bob Gallagher, C. Rawling, and Ed Wimble.
Overview[]
The three scenarios consist of:
- "Into the Throat of the Beast": the group must investigate the mysterious disappearance of miners in Pennsylvania.
- "The Wanderer": a radioactive asteroid makes planetfall in Arizona.
- "And the Dogs Shall Know You": the adventure concludes at Miskatonic University's science department.
Also included are a timeline and calendar of events to allow the Keeper to track the story's progress.
Reception[]
The Arkham Evil received mixed reviews, with commenters praising the potential of the storyline, but being generally critical of its execution [1].
