The Beast, also known as the Black Sphinx, is an avatar of Nyarlathotep worshiped in Egypt. It is, in fact, one of the avatars associated with the Sphinx of Giza, the others being the Black Lion, destroyer of Egypt and the Faceless God.

Appearance

The Beast is a huge being similar to a sphinx, although with jaws distributed asymmetrically by the fingers of its hand and with an indescribable face. Originally, the Sphinx of Giza had the face of this creature, but it was re-sculpted by Khephren.

Cult

The Beast inhabits the underground of the Great Pyramid, where it is venerated by the sect of the Children of the Sphinx, led by Khephren and Nitocris.
