The Book of Chaos, Vol. 1: Ante Genesem is a short Cthulhu Mythos graphic novel written by Mathieu Lauffray and Xavier Dorison, with Lauffray also suppling the artwork. It was released digitally in May 2017 by Humanoids Inc. in partnership with comiXology. The Book of Chaos story was continued in a second volume, Infernum in Terra, later that month.
Synopsis[]
When Miskatonic University Professor Jack Stanton returns to New York from an archaeological trip to China, he writes a book to reveal to the world the world-changing truths he discovered there: that the planet was inhabited by intelligent and technologically-advanced beings long before the rise of humankind.
Just prior to the launch of his book, however, Stanton is attacked by a religious zealot determined to prevent its release; subsequently, the crash of a supertanker into the New York cityscape triggers an event which transports him to a bizarre, nightmarish land where he must fight for survival against strange creatures and an environment which is inimically hostile to human life.
