Lovecraft's works directly. "The Druid of Castle Rock" is a short Cthulhu Mythos story by Canadian author Troy Young. It is the fourth story in Book 2 of his Nyarlathotep Cycle.

Synopsis[]

Field agent Malcolm Mayweather is assigned on bodyguard duty to Isla Urquhart, a researcher in the British counterpart to the Department of Extraordinary Phenomena. Part of his task is to assist the researcher in testing out new technology which will help identify the taint of The Other.

Their testing takes the two from the highlands of Scotland to its capital Edinburgh, where they locate a cult to Yog-Sothoth hiding in plain sight. Although Mayweather is captured by the cultists, Urquhart calls in backup and the worshippers are brought to account.
