The Laundry is a fictional British secret agency dedicated to fighting extradimensional threats, invented by author Charles Stross for his Laundry Files series.

- Bob Howard: The main character and narrator of most Laundry Files stories, Howard is an IT consultant recruited into the Laundry after stumbling onto one of the equations that open a pathway for dangerous extradimensional entities. The name he uses in the books is not his real name or his actual cover name, but a pseudonym used in his work diaries derived from Robert E. Howard.
- Mo O'Brien: Bob's love interest and later wife, she wields a sentient violin made of bone once owned by "Erich Zahn" as a weapon of mass destruction.
- James Angelton: Bob's boss and a senior official at the Laundry, Angelton (a pseudonym taken from a famously paranoid historical CIA officer) is the vessel for a powerful glad-he's-on-our-side entity known as the Eater of Souls.
