"The Likeness" is a Cthulhu Mythos short story by American author Dan Perez.
Synopsis[]
The story begins with Mindy being dropped off by her boyfriend Jake at a tattoo store. Uninterested in the usual selection of designs, the tattooer Cal realizes that Mindy wanted to get something that is truly special so he decides to give her a full-body tattoo, based on an illustration of Vthyarilops the Starfish God from the Necronomicon. Taking almost an entire week to complete it, Mindy began to have some weird side-effects such as becoming more violent and having weird dreams about the Starfish God traveling through outer space. When it was finally finished, Vthyarilops manifested through Mindy and devoured her boyfriend.
