The Necronomicon: Selected Stories and Essays Concerning the Blasphemous Tomes of the Mad Arab is a thematic anthology of Cthulhu Mythos fiction and pseudo-fiction centred on Lovecraft's fictional book of occult knowledge, the Necronomicon.

Edited by prolific Mythos contributor Robert M. Price, The Necronomicon was released by Chaosium as part of their Call of Cthulhu Fiction line. It contains a total of 58 short pieces (60 in the second edition) from a variety of authors, although Lin Carter's works dominate the collection at 41 entries.

Publication History[]

The Necronomicon was first released in November 1996, with this edition running to 334 pages. Later, the Second Edition, Expanded and Corrected, was released in October 2002 and again in February 2008, and came in at 543 pages.
