It was first published in the Jason Andrew-edited thematic anthology Apotheosis: Stories of Human Survival After the Rise of the Elder Gods by Simian Publishing in October 2015.

The story features Pandora Peaslee, a recurrent character created by Rawlik as the one of the main protagonists for a series of Mythos-related stories which revolve around the Great Race of Yith.

Synopsis[]

In a future where the Earth has been quietly brought under the control of the Yithians, Pandora Peaslee and her resistance enact a plan to begin cleansing the world of their presence. Using a serum created by her mother, Megan Halsey, the Reanimatrix, they raise an army of the dead and bind them to their will by invoking the power of Hastur, an act which simultaneously blocks the Yithians from using their time- and dimension-hopping abilities while the humans begin their reconquest.

Behind the Mythos[]

The leader of the Yithian strike team sent to stop Pandora is one Mister Ys, another recurrent character of Rawlik's.

Publication History[]

Since it’s debut in Apotheosis, "The Pestilence of Pandora Peaslee" has also appeared in the collection of Rawlik's own works The Peaslee Papers, a fictional record of the activities of Pandora, her antecedents and her descendants throughout the ages.
