"The Rat King" is a short Cthulhu Mythos story by author Troy Young. It is the first story in Book 2 of his Nyarlathotep Cycle.
Synopsis[]
Newly-recruited Malcolm Mayweather and senior agent Mindy Nguyen investigate the appearance of strange rats in a dying farming community. They uncover a cultist dedicated to an entity named Meph’hibb’anauth, and the plan to use his control over a legion of rats to spread pestilence and destruction. Using their mundane-world skills, they are able to kill the man and blow up his rat minions in an abandoned grain elevator.
