Lovecraft's works directly. The Sassoon Files is a supplement for the Call of Cthulhu role-playing game by Chaosium and was published by Sons of the Singularity. It is compatible with the 7th edition of Call of Cthulhu and GUMSHOE role-playing games. The book is set in 1920's Shanghai and focuses on Victor Sassoon and the factions that competed for influence and power during that period with presence of the Cthulhu Mythos.

Chinese Government book burning[]

In March 2019, it was reported by the publisher that all physical run copies of the supplement had been destroyed by the Chinese Government without explanation and their deposit returned.[1] Despite not being intended for sale within China, a spokesperson from the printing company stated that it was due to the book containing "false reports" of real-world Chinese individuals which the cultural department saw and ordered to be destroyed.[2]

Trivia[]

  • The character Vitas Varnas is based off the real-life actor, writer and producer of the same name. In his description it says he co-starred in his vaudeville act "Arin & Danny - The Two Grumps", a reference to the popular YouTube let's play series Game Grumps.[3]
